Blair Castle, 7 miles from the Birchwood, is the ancient home of the Dukes of Atholl. Most of the castle and its vast estate is open to the public offering tours of the castle, guided ranger visits to the estate and special events throughout the year, most notably the Atholl Gathering in May and the International Horse Trials in August.
